Filter to a date window, a state, a specialty. Every listing shows the span it is actually available for, so a placement that cannot cover your weeks never reaches you in the first place.
Clinical placements · United States
MedMatchers lists clinical placements from practicing US clinicians — rotations and shadowing — with the dates, the city and the weekly rate stated up front. You search by the weeks you have to fill, and apply to a named clinician.
01 — What this is
That is the whole unit of the thing. Not a course, not a program — a specific span of dates in a specific practice, supervised by a specific person. Everything on this site is organized around that fact.
That unit does not change with how far along you are. It is the same arrangement whether you are a medical, NP or PA student booking a required rotation, an international graduate arranging US experience, or a high school student looking for a first week of shadowing.
So the first question we ask you is not what you are interested in. It is which weeks you are trying to fill.
02 — Why this is hard
A supervisor who knows someone. A family friend who practices in the right city. An attending who owes a favor. That route works if you already have the contacts — and it does not work at all if you don’t.
For international graduates it is harder still: you are often arranging US clinical experience from another country, from a standing start, with no network to draw on and a visa window that will not wait.
And the stakes are not academic. A placement that doesn’t materialize is a graduation date that moves, an application cycle missed, a year gone — or, earlier on, the one piece of real experience an application needed and didn’t get. That pressure is exactly what makes students easy to take money from.
03 — How it works
You apply to one specific placement, and the clinician supervising it decides. Nothing is auto-matched on your behalf and no one is assigned to you. You will know whose practice you are asking to join before you ask.
The placement cost is the listing's weekly rate multiplied by the weeks you booked, and we add a 5% fee on top. The dates are the only input, so the figure you are shown before you pay is the figure Stripe charges.
04 — What we verify
Students in this position get taken advantage of, so it matters that we are precise about what a listing on this site does and does not prove. A clinician cannot publish anything until both checks are done, and none may list with under a year in their field.
Medical license
We verify that the clinician holds a current medical license.
Practice location
We verify that the address on the listing is where they practice.
Not checked
We do not assess teaching quality, review malpractice history, confirm hospital privileges, or guarantee which clinician supervises you on a given day. The years of experience shown on a listing is stated by the clinician, not checked against a register the way the license is. We check who they are and where they work. That is the extent of it, and a verified badge should not be read as more.
05 — What it costs
Each listing sets its own weekly rate, and the clinician sets it. We add a 5% platform fee on top of the placement cost. There is nothing else — no membership, no application fee, no charge for searching.
You see the placement cost, the fee and the total before you are sent to pay. Paying submits your application; it does not confirm a placement, because the clinician still has to accept it.

06 — For preceptors
Listing a placement means stating the weeks you can supervise, the rate you charge and the specialty you practice. Applications come to you and you decide on each one — including whether a given student is at a level you want to teach. You are not committing to a roster or a quota.
You need a current license, a practice we can verify, and at least a year in your field. There is no charge to list and nothing monthly: MedMatchers is paid out of your rate when a placement is actually booked, never before — the exact share, and what a booking would pay you, are shown on the listing form before you publish.
07 — About us
We founded MedMatchers because the path to meaningful clinical experience should not depend on your contacts, the number of unanswered emails you can send, or how well you can navigate a fragmented system. Students deserve a clearer, more trusted way to find the rotations and shadowing that shape their future — and the clinicians who can teach them deserve a simple way to open that door.
We are a marketplace, and we are strict about what that means. We do not place you, supervise you, or award academic credit, and we write down every limit rather than leaving it implied.
